MYEFSKI PROMOTES CARLTON TO ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL
Myefski Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Matthew Carlton, RA, to Associate Principal. Since joining the firm in 2013, Carlton has become an integral leader at Myefski Architects, contributing to projects across the country while helping guide the firm's commitment to design excellence, technical rigor, and client service.
Utilizing his expertise in both the theoretical and technical aspects of architecture, Carlton is involved in the organization and execution of all phases of project development. In his new role as Associate Principal, he will continue transforming design concepts and sketches into thoughtful design and technical decisions that elevate document quality and support successful project outcomes.
Carlton began his architectural education at Northern Michigan University’s Pre-Bachelor’s Architecture Program before earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver.
Carlton has played a key role in numerous significant projects, including:
Major mixed-use developments in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Berkeley, California, including an 18-story residential tower currently under construction and a 25-story student housing tower currently in design.
Liberty Way in Marquette, Michigan, a transformative mixed-use development consisting of an extended-stay hotel, banking facility, and office building that has played a pivotal role in the revitalization of the Washington Street corridor.
“Matt’s promotion recognizes not only his dedication to Myefski Architects, but also his commitment to the architectural profession and the communities we serve,” said John Myefski, Founding Principal of Myefski Architects. “He has a remarkable ability to take a project’s program goals, site constraints, and zoning requirements and uncover opportunities that others might overlook. Through thoughtful design and technical expertise, Matt consistently helps create places that strengthen neighborhoods and enrich the communities around them.”
As Associate Principal, Carlton will continue contributing to the firm’s growth while advancing design and technical excellence and helping shape projects that positively impact the communities we serve.
