SENIOR ASSOCIATE
A Senior Associate is a position of leadership within the firm. The position requires an individual who is able to manage numerous architectural projects varying in magnitude. Persons in this position report to a Principal regarding management of their projects. A Senior Associate must meet the following criteria:
Experience/Expertise:
Licensed Architect with Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional architectural experience.
Proven record of managing 3–5 substantial projects from Schematic Design through completion.
Proficient in Revit, Enscape, and other architectural design and documentation software.
Demonstrated command of architectural vocabulary, theory, and design concepts.
Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and architectural detailing.
Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and industry tools.
Familiarity with the practical application of engineering principles in architectural design.
Understanding of business operations, project management, and leadership principles.
Responsibilites/Tasks:
Contributes to the planning, design, coordination, and execution of architectural projects.
Manages project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Supervises and mentors architectural design staff, fostering professional growth and consistency in project execution.
Develops, evaluates, and recommends architectural design solutions addressing complex project requirements.
Applies advanced architectural principles, professional judgment, and innovative techniques to resolve design and technical challenges.
Conducts research and analysis of zoning ordinances, accessibility standards, and building codes to inform project design and compliance.
Prepares design presentations, detailed drawings, and comprehensive construction documents.
Coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment of design intent and project goals.
Coordination with Sustainable Consultants is typical on all projects.
Performs site visits, observes construction progress, and prepares detailed field reports.
Contributes to the development and implementation of firm-wide design standards and best practices.
