Looking Forward: The American Treehouse + Shaping the City

CLOSING REFLECTIONS FROM VENICE

VENICE, ITALY—As the Time Space Existence exhibition draws to a close on November 23, we reflect with gratitude on Myefski Architects’ third participation in this global exploration of architecture’s role in shaping our collective future.

This year, our contribution—The American Treehouse—celebrates connection. From its prominent location overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, the angled wooden structure invites visitors to experience a moment of immersive connection with form and landscape. A companion installation at Palazzo Mora traces the project’s design evolution, highlighting the spirit of resilience that shaped the work.

In conjunction with the exhibition’s closing ceremonies, the European Cultural Centre will host Shaping the City, a forum dedicated to addressing contemporary housing challenges. We are pleased to share that John Myefski will participate as a panelist in Rethinking Home: Innovation, Affordability, and the Future of Living. His presentation will examine the impact of California’s Housing Crisis Act (SB330) through the lens of a recent Myefski Architects project in Berkeley.

As The American Treehouse completes its chapter in Venice, the structure will be deconstructed and the materials recycled for other projects. Meanwhile, we remain committed to exploring architecture’s potential to inspire connection, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more resilient built environment.

Thank you for following this journey with us.
