INSIDE THE CREATIVE JOURNEY: THE AMERICAN TREEHOUSE AT PALAZZO MORA
VENICE, ITALY—The American Treehouse continues its exhibition in Venice with a companion installation at Palazzo Mora, offering a deeper look into the creative process behind the Marinaressa Gardens installation. The work is part of the Time Space Existence exhibition held in conjunction with the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Within the historic halls, visitors encounter the inspiration and evolution of the design—how the resilience of the leaning pine trees, unique to the Gardens, shaped both the concept and structural language of the treehouse. The exhibition unfolds as a story, beginning with a site plan of Venice identifying the location of the full-scale installation. Architectural construction documents, rendered perspective views, and a video fly-through of the gardens further reveal the project’s development, interwoven with construction photography that brings the process to life.
Miniature models from the early design stages sit alongside diagrams that trace the dialogue between the leaning trees and the resulting design. These explorations culminate in a fully assembled quarter-scale model of the final treehouse, allowing visitors to experience the interplay of concept, form, and structure firsthand.
In this way, the Palazzo Mora installation reveals the vision, process, and spirit of resilience that shaped The American Treehouse.
