BEHIND THE SCENES: A FIRST LOOK AT THE AMERICAN TREEHOUSE

VENICE, ITALY—Myefski Architects is honored to once again participate in the Time Space Existence exhibition, presented in conjunction with the Venice Architecture Biennale. As a three-time exhibitor, our contribution this year—The American Treehouse—celebrates connection: between people, nature, and the act of renewal.

Situated in the Marinaressa Gardens, between the Arsenale and the Giardini, The American Treehouse draws direct inspiration from the site’s distinctive “Pesto Pines,” which grow at dramatic angles and are stabilized with wooden support posts. These striking trees became the central inspiration for the structure’s design.

As seen in the construction process images above, the design concept embraces the angled nature of the trees incorporating slanted framing. The treehouse's structural supports echo the angled posts, creating a dialogue between nature and architecture.

Stay tuned for a post-opening update, featuring photos from the reception at Marinaressa Gardens and highlights from our complementary indoor exhibit at Palazzo Mora, which explores the project’s conceptual development in greater depth—including a captivating animation that brings the design narrative to life.
