Kompas Fellowship: Empowering Emerging Professionals

March 15, 2024 | Chicago, IL

In its 10th year, the Kompas Fellowship is an opportunity for creative individuals to gain hands-on professional experience while unlocking their own innovator potential. The immersive program allows a fellow to further their skills outside the classroom by working alongside architects and designers. Fellows spend 80% of their time assisting with real-world projects and 20% of their time working on an independent research project.

"We are delighted to kick off this milestone year with two exceptional individuals joining us as fellows," shared John Myefski, President + Principal of Myefski Architects and Kompas Fellowship Founder. "Beatriz Vezzaro Britto and Philip Morath both exhibit strong design sensibilities and we look forward to their contributions to the profession."

Beatriz will earn a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan this May. During her fellowship, Beatriz will research the impact of transportation on the built environment drawing attention to the adaptations across different urban neighborhoods.

Philip is earning a BAA from the Aarhus School of Architecture (Denmark). Philip's research project will focus on identifying a framework for the design of landmarks and other culturally significant spaces that acknowledges their relationships with the urban environment.
