DESIGN DISTINCTION

PALATINE, IL—A jury of architect peers under the charge of the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA) recently selected a design from Myefski Architects for a silver award distinction. Touted as a showcase of the power of design, the annual ALA Design Awards evaluates a diverse array of project types from firms of all sizes.

Out of 103 entries, MA's Vilnius Connect and a dozen other projects received gold and silver awards for their high quality of design and creativity. Vilnius Connect establishes a new railway station complex and draws upon the historic significance of the existing station by forming a veiled intervention that encapsulates the structure.

"We wanted the design to symbolize modernity while being contextually sensitive," shared Josh Sacks, Associate at Myefski Architects. "The result is a vibrant undulating skin that is inspired by an old-world sensibility."
