A Licensed Architect in both Illinois and California, Jeremiah earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
As an Associate, Jeremiah utilizes his knack for problem-solving to excel at guiding a project's progression as well as achieving the goals of the firm. He successfully manages the design team to develop inventive design solutions and meet project milestones in an efficient and effective manner.
A self-proclaimed tinkerer, Jeremiah enjoys building, repairing, and restoring furniture, houses, and even toys—for which his children are an excellent source. Jeremiah spends much of his free time restoring his Mid-Century Modern home.
Mike Karkowski, Associate
As Associate, Michael guides our studio of design professionals through all aspects of a project. Michael’s goal is to achieve client satisfaction through consistent communication, collaboration, and thoughtful attention to detail. His approach is intuitive and pragmatic, focusing on the technical aspects of design and environmentally-responsible sustainable design principles. He is a Licensed Architect in Illinois, California, and Florida, and holds a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and a CSI Certified Documents Technologist. Michael holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Mike spends his free time with his wife and daughter, and has occasionally been seen patching plaster walls in his vintage Mount Prospect home. Now and then, he tries to squeeze in a little late-night hockey.
Josh Sacks, Associate
Josh holds a Master of Architecture degree from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration Finance from the University of Florida. He is a Licensed Architect and holds LEED AP certification.
As an Associate, Josh utilizes his management experience to successfully ensure thorough execution of all phases of a project. He skillfully navigates all phases of a project from inception to completion, ensuring the design team members are thoughtfully engaged in achieving client goals. In his free time, he loves soaking up all that the community has to offer. This generally means spending time at the Chicago lakefront with his two daughters, at the dog park with his pooch Oliver, and sipping a delicious cup of coffee away from the noise of the city.
Matthew Carlton, Project Manager
A licensed architect in Michigan, Matt received his preliminary architectural training at Northern Michigan University. He continued this pursuit at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. After a few years of real-world experience, Matt decided to continue his education in Denver, and soon received his Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado. As a Project Manager, Matt transforms general design and sketches into design and technical decisions that positively impact document quality. Matt loves spending his free time mountain biking, snowboarding and enjoying Lake Superior.
Josh Dawson, Senior Project Manager
Josh attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan before moving to Chicago to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture.
As a Senior Project Manager, Josh offers experience across a wide variety of project types. Josh takes on a leadership role for each project he manages by guiding and motivating team members to analyze the design objectives and turn challenges into opportunities. He is a Licensed Architect and member of NCARB.
Aside from architectural endeavors, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, assisting in their school sports activities and taking them hunting, fishing, and skiing.
Anuradha Patnaik, Project Manager
Anuradha grew up in India and attended Manipal University where she earned her Bachelor of Architecture. Shortly thereafter, she made her way to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to earn her Master of Architecture. As Job Captain, she contributes to all phases of a project. A true go-getter by nature, Anuradha works tirelessly to provide high-quality drawings and details.
When seeking inspiration, Anuradha looks outside of herself and heads to public squares or seeks conversation with others. By observing the behavior and patterns of other people, she is reminded of just how small she is in such a vast world. This reflection drives the way Anuradha approaches any design problem—we must go out and connect with people to find out what really matters to them.
Kristina Perhach, Project Manager
Hailing from Maryland, Kristina earned Associate of Applied Sciences degrees in Architecture and Interior Design before enrolling at Morgan State University. There, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Environmental Design as well as a Master of Architecture.
This experience resulted in an advanced knowledge of construction administration and management. As Job Captain, Kristina is able to wear many hats, making her a critical team member in each project.
Aside from her architectural pursuits, Kristina loves to travel, bike, fish, hunt, and volunteer.
Caesar Sanchez, Project Manager
Cesar earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology before moving to New York City.
Serving as Project Manager, Cesar ensures client-established goals are met in a timely manner. Each project requires special attention to detail - through his dedication, Cesar conveys this to the project team. As a LEED-certified architect, Cesar has contributed to a vast assortment of significant projects, most notable being the Columbia College Chicago School of Cinema Art & Science (winner of an IIDA Red Award), the Philip House Condominium in the Upper East Side of New York City, the Superior Ink Condominium in the West Village in NYC, and the Devonshire House in the Greenwich Village of NYC.
Aside from architectural pursuits, Cesar enjoys spending his free time running 5k races and hanging out with his 2- and 7-year old children.
Joel Norton, Job Captain
After completing the pre-architecture program at Northern Michigan University, Joel crossed the bridge and finished his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture at Lawrence Technological University. During his time at LTU, he focused on studying sustainable architecture as well as historic renovation and preservation. He then moved back to Marquette to pursue his career, joining Myefski Architects. Joel possesses an eagerness and drive that makes him an outstanding addition to the team.
In his free time, Joel enjoys renovating with his wife, hitting the trails with their two dogs, and visiting local breweries with friends.

Ellis Wills-Begley, Architectural Fellow
Ellis Wills-Begley, a graduate of University of Michigan’s Taubman School of Architecture and Urban Planning, is one of two 2018 Kompas Fellows.
During his fellowship, Ellis plans to build on Myefski Architects’ strengths in innovation and sustainability. He will explore a variety of design strategies that incorporate accessibility considerations. Ellis’ goal is to improve standards, templates, products, and materials that create inclusive, accessible, and desirable spaces for every user.
By contributing to MA’s diverse portfolio of projects, Ellis will have the opportunity as an Architectural Intern to experience first-hand how a professional architect adapts design to address accessibility and where opportunities exist to achieve greater inclusivity for people with disabilities.
Heather Hammerle Manova, VP of Operations + Marketing
As Vice President of Operations + Marketing, Heather develops strategic solutions to refine the firm’s business and management principles, architectural practice process, marketing procedures, and contracting obligations. She works with firm leadership to develop department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for effective department operation.
Born and raised in Michigan, Heather received her Bachelor of Business Administration at Northwood University. With nearly 20 years of experience, Heather sets herself apart through her true devotion to tactical business plans that result in creative approaches to business development and establish a culture of accountability and success.
When not working to develop her knowledge and understanding of best practices, Heather loves to visit museums and art galleries, where she feels that she can build off the courage and expression of others. She enjoys spending time hiking, climbing, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and son.
Iris Gill, Human Resources + Financial Manager
Originally from Croatia, Iris grew up in Germany where she majored in English and French. After living in North Carolina for four years, she decided it was time for a change and moved to Chicago in 2012.
With over ten years of experience in the administrative field, Iris supports Myefski Architects in the imperative role of Human Resource + Financial Manager. In this role, she leads the firm's human resource management in addition to the accounts payable and accounts receivable needs. A tenured member of the MA team, Iris serves as a key team member in the overall operations of the firm. As a certified Human Resources professional, she oversees onboarding processes, which involves the recruitment, hiring and retention of the skilled and qualified employees at MA.
Being active, traveling, and helping the youth in the community keeps her energized and motivated to tackle life with a positive, can-do attitude.
Kasey Steward, Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Since graduating from Howard University in Washington, DC, Kasey has gone on to gain invaluable interpersonal and client-retention skills. Building on 10 years of experience in face-to-face customer service, salesmanship, and administration, Kasey is an imperative asset to the MA team as Front Desk Administrative Assistant, supporting the firm’s overall operations and communications as well as providing a warm sense of hospitality to all.
In her free time, Kasey loves watching old-fashioned true crime documentaries as well as reading historically-accurate novels mixed in with the occasional Young Adult vampire/witch unrequited love story. She also enjoys cooking large meals for her friends and family.
